Job Seekers: Let Down Your Walls, Check Your Spam, and Show Up
Posted September 4, 2025

This month’s blog is a little different. This one is targeted to job seekers. We hope this helps you to get hired, in the right job, more quickly.

Dear Job Seekers,

It’s official: ANOVA Resources is swamped with recruiting projects. Companies are hiring. Roles are opening up. Pay is competitive. We have real jobs with real companies. 💼✅

But here’s the problem:
We can’t get you to talk to us.

Silence from Coast to Coast 🌎

Whether we’re recruiting for an Admin role in Washington, a Nursing position in Texas, a Management job in New York, or a Remote SW Programmer, our recruiters are all running into the same thing: silence.

You applied.
We saw your resume and felt you were a top applicant. Yay! 📄👀
We’ve reached out—by email, phone, and/or through Indeed or LinkedIn. 📧📱

But almost half of job seekers never respond. 🚫📞

And when we finally get an interview on the calendar, up to 40% of candidates don’t show up. ❌🤷‍♂️ No message. No email. Just a no-show.

We Understand the Skepticism 🤔

Let’s be real:

⚠️ You're cautious.
📩You don’t trust strange emails.
🧠You’ve been burned before.

And with everything going on in the hiring world, we get it. Some job seekers assume that any recruiter message is spam. We’ve even been called bots.

But here’s the thing: we’re not bots, and these are real jobs.
Good jobs. With good pay and benefits.

When you go silent—or ghost an interview—it doesn’t just hurt your chances with that company. It chips away at your own momentum.

Be Safe, But Don’t Miss Out 🕵️‍♀️✅

If you’re actively job hunting, here’s your challengefor this week:

Check your email spam folder. Especially for messages from Indeed, LinkedIn, or company emails.
Log into your job boards regularly. Check your messages directly. Don't rely only on email notifications.

Do a quick Google search. If you’re not sure a message is legit, look up the company or the person contacting you before you delete it. Trust your gut - but don’t shut out every opportunity.
Don’t block out-of-state numbers. Many recruiters work remotely and might call you from a state where you did not apply.

How to Be Interview-Ready 🎤✨

If you do make it to the interview stage - show up ready. It doesn’t have to be complicated:

ü Be on time.

ü Dress like it matters (because it does).

ü Read up—just a little—on the company you’re interviewing for.

ü If the meeting is online - find a quiet space with a neutral background and practice with the online meeting program at least 5 minutes before the interview start time.

These small steps go a long way. They show you’re interested, engaged, and someone a company wants to hire.

Final Thought 💡

At ANOVA Resources, we want you to succeed. Our recruiting division prescreens job applicants for open position at our client companies across the USA. But we can’t do that if we can’t reach you—or if you vanish mid-process.

Let down your walls.

Let opportunity in.

And for the love of your job search… check your spam folder.

With Love,

The ANOVA Resources Recruiting Team
